Abstract

Nowadays radioactive is widely used in various fields. Medical radioactivity is radioactive for diagnostic and treatment. Food preservation uses radioactivity to sterilize bacteria and microorganisms. Dangerous in case of accidental radioactive leakage can cause severe health effects, including radiation sickness, and an increased risk of cancer. The development of a radiation detection system has been completed for the purpose of alerting individuals in the event of excessive radiation exposure. The TMEC utilizes a PIN photodiode as a radiation sensor, working in conjunction with a low noise amplifier to detect gamma radioactivity. Result signal pulse from the amplifier will input to process and counter by microcontroller (Arduino Uno R3) then display result on LCD I2C 16x2 Module. The detector can detect gramma radioactivity from Americium-241 testing source.
